Environmental Scientist / Troy, Michigan

G2 Consulting Group is looking for a full-time Environmental Scientist with one to five years of demonstrated experience to join our Environmental Consulting Department. Environmental Scientist will perform site remediation investigations, technical and safety oversight of subcontractors, permitting, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, and health and safety audits. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations is required. ACM Building Inspector is a major plus.

Required QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor or Associate Degree in Engineering / Environmental / Ecological or other related fields
  • One to five years of demonstrated experience in environmental consulting
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
  • ACM Building Inspector strongly preferred
  • HAZWOPER training preferred
  • Certified Lead Paint Inspector preferred
  • Certified Wetland Specialist preferred
  • AutoCAD skills preferred
  • Strong prioritization and coordination skills, self-directed and self-motivated
  • Good administrative and time management skills with keen attention to detail
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance and have an excellent driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Willingness to work outside
  • Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends, and travel requiring out of town, overnight stays

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Represent G2 in a professional manner on assigned sites
  • Preparing work and health and safety plans
  • Conducting soil and groundwater investigations and sampling
  • Remediation system operation and maintenance
  • Data entry, management, and analysis
  • Preparation of reports in a variety of formats
